Participation SSC17

Participation SSC17 international conference

06 September 2021

Aalborg (Danemark)

Ob September 6th-10th 2021, the SSC17 conference was held in Aalborg, Denmark. JM Roger presented methodological work done at ChemHouse (N-CovSel method).

This was the 17th edition of the 17th Scandinavian Symposium on Chemometrics. About 30 scientific papers were presented, on all application topics of chemometrics, as well as some presentations of new methods. The program is available at https://ssc17.org.

The COMiC team was represented by JM Roger, who presented the methodological work carried out within ChemHouse (www.chemproject/chemhouse) on the selection of variables in tables of more than two dimensions. This method, called N-CovSel, was developed in collaboration with the Universities of Rome and L'Aquila, represented by Federico Marini and Alessadra Biancolillo. N-CovSel allows the extraction of the most informative features in N-linear structures, such as time series of hyperspectral images. It allows for example to identify the most important wavelengths, as well as the times at which it is most interesting to measure them. It should thus make it possible to simplify data acquisition protocols, and even help in the design of simplified sensors.
